Our experience enables us to offer effective individualized outpatient therapy & psychiatric care. We treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples. We accept those with Maryland Medicaid as their only form of insurance. Call us to get started today!
We provide assessment and treatment of mental health and chemical dependency problems. Our professional staff is highly skilled in caring for adults, adolescents and children, and is dedicated to serving your special needs and concerns.
We provide individual counseling to adults, children, couples and families from the age of 5 to 105. We do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation.
We work from a strengths-based perspective knowing that each individual has the capacity to over-come life's challenges by focusing on the strengths that each client brings to the problem. A strengths based practice is client-led and we believe in starting where the client is and addressing problems at their own pace and comfort level

Please also find attached the Intake Packets for both Adults and Children.
The Child packet should be completed for any client under the age of 18 years old.
The Initial Appointment:
Your first visit will take approximately one hour. During this appointment you can discuss your situation and concerns with a mental health professional. After this initial appointment, an assessment and recommendation for treatment will be made. To schedule your first appointment, call 301-733-2431. Follow-up appointments are scheduled with your individual therapist. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.
Our policy is that each client must first have an intake completed with one of our clinical therapists and initiate on-going treatment prior to scheduling an appointment with our psychiatrist. We firmly believed that our services complement one another and that your success depends on your attendance and participation in therapy in addition to your prescription medications. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Should you miss more than 3 (semi)consecutive appointments with your therapist, you may be put on an attendance contract or discharged from our care.
Prescription Medications: Our psychiatrist may write prescriptions at the time of your initial psychiatric appointment. If a refill is needed between appointments, please call your pharmacy directly. The pharmacist will call us for approval. Please allow at least two days for this process. You must be engaged in therapy in order to see our psychiatric providers.
WMCC utilizes all available technologies in order to conduct telehealth sessions with our clients when appropriate. The decision to interact via telehealth is a collaboration between the client and clinician. Due to COVID-19, Maryland state regulations now allow clients to participate in telehealth services from their home; however, WMCC offers several offices available to utilize if a client prefers to come in and see their provider who may be practicing from a distant site themselves. Telehealth services are offered by appointment only and are normally held during business hours. Both therapists and psychiatric providers offer telehealth sessions.
We accept all forms of Maryland Medicaid including: the red and white card, United Health Care, Amerigroup, Priority Partners and others. Medicare is not accepted at this time. Private pay is also an option, please call us for rates.
Our Frederick office will accept Private Insurance in the future but for now will accept self-pay or provide a super bill for you to provide to your insurance provider. Medicaid/State insurance is accepted in Frederick as well.

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Many children and adults suffer from ADHD, ADD and other disorders that affect their ability to complete tasks, form relationships with others, integrate well into social situations and cause disruptions in the home and in the community.
