Our Treatment Focus

We provide assessment and treatment of mental health and chemical dependency problems.   Our professional staff is highly skilled in caring for adults, adolescents and children, and is dedicated to serving your special needs and concerns.

We provide individual counseling to adults, children, couples and families from the age of 5 to 105. We do not  discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation.

We work from a strengths-based perspective knowing that each individual has the capacity to over-come life's challenges by focusing on the strengths that each client brings to the problem.  A strengths based practice is client-led and we believe in starting where the client is and addressing problems at their own pace and comfort level

The Treatment Process

The Initial Appointment:

Your first visit will take approximately one hour. During this appointment you can discuss your situation and concerns with a mental health professional. After this initial appointment, an assessment and recommendation for treatment will be made. To schedule your first appointment, call 301-733-2431. Follow-up appointments are scheduled  with your individual therapist. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.

Our policy is that each client must first have an intake completed with one of our clinical therapists and initiate on-going treatment prior to scheduling an appointment with our psychiatrist.  We firmly believed that our services complement one another and that your success depends on your attendance and participation in therapy in addition to your prescription medications.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

Should you miss more than 3 appointments with your therapist, within a 6 week period, you may be discharged from our care.

Prescription Medications: Our psychiatrist may write prescriptions at the time of your initial psychiatric appointment.   If a refill is needed between appointments, please call your pharmacy directly. The pharmacist will call us for approval.  Please allow at least two days for this process.

Accepted Insurance:

We accept all forms of Maryland Medicaid including: the red and white card, United Health Care, Amerigroup, Priority Partners and others.  Medicare and private insurance are not accepted at this time.

Our Therapy

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

ADHD & Childhood Disorders

Many children and adults suffer from ADHD, ADD and other disorders that affect their ability to complete tasks, form relationships with others, integrate well into social situations and cause disruptions in the home and in the community. Let us help you learn the skills needed to manage your symptoms.
